Amy Jo Moore

Amy Jo Moore is a Design Engineering Director at Northrop Grumman in Roy, UT. She grew up wanting to be a rocket scientist and has been able to live out her dream. Amy Jo leads and directs the Design Engineering team responsible for engineers, processes, tools, and skill development enabling program execution on Strategic Deterrent Systems.

Amy Jo’s career experience ranges from Mechanical Engineering, Business Planning to Strategy and Employee Experience. Previous roles include Director of Employee Experience, Operations and Business planning, and 10 years supporting missile programs as the Mechanical Engineering Manager and as a Design Engineer.

Amy Jo received a B.S. in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering and a Mathematics Minor from Utah State University in 2009 and received her Master of Engineering Management from Ohio University in 2013.

As a director and upper-level leader at Northrop Grumman, Amy Jo is dedicated to building an organization that is focused on diversity, inclusion, and learning. To live up to those promises, she has embedded herself in employee resource groups and other initiatives that allow her to create a positive work environment and inclusive culture for the organization. She leads outreach events with local schools and collegiate Society of Women Engineers (SWE) sections. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Douglas Space and Science Foundation, a Utah non-profit focused on creating an environment that promotes educational achievement, encourages goal setting, teaches teamwork skills, and builds self-esteem in individuals of all ages. She promotes STEM careers to the next generation as often as she can and enjoys helping kids see their potential and how engineering can unleash that.

Amy Jo’s passions revolve around her two children. Watching her family learn and grow comes before all else. She enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, paddleboarding, playing softball and traveling.
