Audra Yocom
Audra Yocom is a technology enthusiast and educator dedicated to empowering her students. With over a decade of experience teaching computer science and information technology at both the secondary and post-secondary levels, she has consistently pioneered innovative approaches to education. Audra worked as the CS & IT content specialist in Alpine School District for 3 years, working closely with CTE leadership to find creative ways to expand the CS and IT programs. Her leadership in developing and implementing district-wide programs has increased access to advanced coursework and created opportunities for students to explore career pathways.
In addition to her classroom work, Audra has made significant contributions to Utah’s technology education community. She served on the board of the Utah Association of Career and Technology Education for 2 years, and just recently spent 3 years as the Director of Technology Education for the Success in Education foundation. In her role at the foundation, Audra collaborated with school districts, communities, and industry leaders to bring meaningful STEAM-focused opportunities to thousands of students statewide through the Ken Garff Esports program.
Audra is proud to come from a legacy of strong female role models. She learned the transformative power of education when she watched her mother return to college to finish her bachelor’s degree; and she learned the importance of advocacy from her grandmother, who spent a liftime lobbying for women and children on Capitol Hill. These are just two of many influential women Audra is grateful to have known during her career and life thus far.
Audra earned her B.S. from BYU in Technology & Engineering Eduction, her M.S. from WGU in Information Technology Management, and her administrative licence from SUU. Audra enjoys spending time with her family, her 13-year old puppy Ellie, listening to Taylor Swift, cooking, crocheting, and travelling whenever possible.
