Qun Maxine Liu

Maxine Liu is the Sr. Director of the Partner Program at Health Catalyst. She is leading a critical strategic initiative for the company and for the healthcare industry, to provide a model for an open and interoperable healthcare data ecosystem, as well as building a community environment for like-minded, mission driven, outcome focused, digital health innovators. Her work to bring the partner program from concept to reality involved architecting and directing the partnership framework and strategy, technology enablement, financial modeling, and relationship management. Her unique combination of expertise in software development, clinical transformation, entrepreneurship, and business strategy allowed her to engage and execute on a wide variety of challenges in forming the program. Now Health Catalyst is bringing a true healthcare data and analytics ecosystem to customers, along with more than twenty partners’ solutions available in the marketplace. This ecosystem enables innovation and informs on how to be the catalyst for massive, measurable, sustained improvement in healthcare outcomes.

Her career has spanned both industry and academia, and both technology and business. Prior to Health Catalyst, she worked as a lead software architect/engineer at Siemens Healthineers, an algorithm engineer at Varian Medical Systems, and a scientist at QTultrasound. She has authored several academic publications in high performance computing, medical imaging and biomedical materials and holds two patents in these areas. She graduated at Texas A&M University with a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and is self-taught in software engineering and business development.

Maxine is an entrepreneur by nature. She is a person who is good at visualizing the advances in technology for real-world applications and pursuing deployment of an invention on a large scale. While in graduate school she started a business, which developed radiology viewing software. The business won a couple of awards such as Ideas Challenge and Distinguished Achievement. Maxine never stops innovating, and she uses her spare time to develop mobile applications to help further digitize healthcare.

As for her passions outside technology and business, Maxine enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking, camping and mountain biking. Maxine is an amateur pianist, and she has won multiple awards in classical piano performance. She was originally from China and came to the United States in 2010 to pursue graduate study. She now resides in Cottonwood Heights, UT with her newly married husband.
